FDA Proposes New Rule for Bioengineered Foods
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is proposing a new rule requiring companies to submit data and information about plant-derived bioengineered foods at least 120 days before commercial distribution. This move aims to ensure the agency has sufficient information to make informed decisions about market entry and compliance with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
