FDA Clears Metformin Hydrochloride Tablets for Approval

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined that the 625mg and 750mg metformin hydrochloride tablets (Glucophage) were not withdrawn from sale due to safety or effectiveness concerns. This decision enables the FDA to approve abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) for these tablet strengths.
