Amendments to the United States Munitions List

The U.S. Department of State is revising Category I--Firearms--of the U.S. Munitions List (USML) to include close assault weapons and combat shotguns, and to consolidate certain interpretations of firearms and their components in the revised text. The changes also add reference to related exemptions from export licensing requirements and designate certain accessories as significant military equipment (SME).
