SBA Proposes Rule Allowing SBICs to Assume Control of Small Businesses
The proposed rule would enable Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs) to take control of small businesses without prior notice from the Small Business Administration (SBA) and maintain this control for up to five years, or longer with SBA approval. Additionally, SBICs would be allowed to sell equity in portfolio companies to their competitors.
