EPA Proposes National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from Leather Finishing Operations
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAP) from leather finishing operations, aiming to reduce emissions of glycol ethers, toluene, and xylene, which are associated with various health problems, and non-HAP emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), with estimated annual reductions of 375 tons and 750 tons, respectively.
