FERC Clarifies Business Practices for Interstate Natural Gas Pipelines

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has granted clarification on Order No. 587-L, which set a November 1, 2000, deadline for pipelines to allow shippers to offset imbalances on different contracts. The order now states that pipelines without imbalances do not need to implement imbalance trading on their systems.
