VA Payment for Non-VA Public or Private Hospital Care and Non-VA Physician Services That Are Associated With Either Outpatient or Inpatient Care

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has amended its medical regulations to allow for lower payments for non-VA hospital care and physician services associated with outpatient or inpatient care, effective immediately. The changes aim to reduce costs by allowing the VA to negotiate lower payment amounts with hospitals and physicians.
