DOL Amends Prohibited Transaction Exemption 97-34 for Bear Stearns & Co. Inc., Prudential Securities Incorporated, and Others

The US Department of Labor has issued a final exemption amendment to the Prohibited Transaction Exemption 97-34, allowing certain transactions involving mortgage-backed securities and asset-backed securities, as well as interest rate swaps and yield supplement agreements, to qualify for exemptive relief.
