NMFS Denies Request for Exempted Fishing Permits in Gloucester Harbor

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has denied a request from the City of Gloucester to issue Exempted Fishing Permits (EFPs) for a 3-month pilot study in Gloucester Harbor, citing enforcement difficulties, to allow commercial vessels to enter the harbor with overages of haddock during unsafe weather conditions.
