McDonnell Douglas DC-9-10 to -9-50 Series Airplanes and C-9 Military Airplanes: Airworthiness Directive Amendment
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has adopted a new airworthiness directive to address a potential safety issue with the outboard idler hinge fitting of the left and right wing flap on certain McDonnell Douglas Model DC-9-10, -9-20, -9-30, -9-40, and -9-50 series airplanes and C-9 military airplanes, requiring inspections and potential replacement to prevent fatigue cracking and ensure structural integrity.
