Pratt & Whitney JT9D Series Turbofan Engines: New Airworthiness Directive to Prevent Oil Fires

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has adopted a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Pratt & Whitney JT9D series turbofan engines to address a loss of integrity in the oil system, which can cause oil fires and lead to engine failure and damage to the airplane.
