NMFS Announces Preliminary Approval for Experimental Fishing Permit Application

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries Service (NMFS) has initiated a review of an application for an Exempted Fishing Permit (EFP) submitted by Rutgers University's Haskin Shellfish Research Laboratory, which aims to investigate the effectiveness of different trawl mesh sizes in reducing discard mortality of scup in the Mid-Atlantic region.
