Boeing Issues Airworthiness Directive for 777 Series Airplanes to Prevent Engine Fire Damage
The new directive supersedes an existing rule requiring repetitive testing of the engine fire shutoff switch and replaces it with new actions to prevent overheating of the solenoid and failure of the override mechanism, which could lead to engine fire damage and prevent the flightcrew from discharging the fire extinguishing agent.
