NMFS Prepares Draft Environmental Impact Statement for American Lobster Fishery Management

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has released a draft supplemental environmental impact statement (DSEIS) for the American lobster fishery in federal waters, outlining preferred management actions and alternatives based on recommendations from the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (Commission) and the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for American Lobster (ISFMP). The public will have the opportunity to comment on the DSEIS at upcoming meetings.
