Delegation of Authority to the Immigration and Naturalization Service to Terminate Deportation Proceedings and Initiate Removal Proceedings

The U.S. government has delegated authority to the Immigration and Naturalization Service to terminate deportation proceedings and initiate removal proceedings, as permitted under the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.
