EPA Proposes National Emission Standards for PVC and Copolymers Production

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP) for the production of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Copolymers, which would require facilities to continue complying with existing standards. The proposed rule aims to protect public health by regulating major sources of known human carcinogens such as vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride.
