HUD Announces Access Housing 2000 Initiative to Assist People with Disabilities

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is partnering with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Institute on Disability (IOD) at the University of New Hampshire to launch the Access Housing 2000 Initiative, a proposed national program aimed at helping individuals with disabilities transition from nursing homes to the community through improved access to affordable housing and necessary personal assistance and supportive services.
