FCC Seeks Public Comment on 911 Act Implementation and Compatibility with Emergency Calling Systems
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is seeking public comment on the implementation of the 911 Act, specifically on the use of N11 codes and other abbreviated dialing arrangements, as well as compatibility with 911 emergency calling systems. The FCC aims to provide a reasonable transition period for wireline and wireless carriers to convert to the universal emergency assistance number, 911, across the US.
