Regulations for Satellite Retransmissions of Broadcast Signals Adopted Under the Satellite Home Viewer Improvement Act of 1999

The US government has implemented rules to ensure satellite carriers provide the same broadcast programming as cable operators, including non-duplication of networks, syndicated exclusivity, and sports blackout policies, in compliance with the Satellite Home Viewer Improvement Act of 1999.
