Fish and Wildlife Service Announces Availability of Draft Recovery Plan for Endangered Mussels

The Fish and Wildlife Service has made available a draft recovery plan for six endangered mussel species, including the fat threeridge, shinyrayed pocketbook, and threatened Chipola slabshell, for public review and comment. The plan aims to address habitat loss and degradation caused by human activities such as reservoir construction and channel maintenance, which have led to a decline in the abundance and distribution of these species in the Apalachicola- Chattahoochee-Flint River basin.
