Notice of Proposed Withdrawal; Oregon

The Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management proposes to withdraw approximately 619,000 acres of Federal lands, 73,900 acres of Federal minerals, and 37,400 acres of Federal surface lands to protect the nationally significant ecologic and biologic diversity values of the Steens Mountain area. Subject to valid existing rights, this notice segregates the Federal lands and minerals described below for up to 2 years from the non-discretionary public land and mining laws.
