EPA Designates Islesboro Island Aquifer System as Sole Source of Drinking Water for Maine Area

The Environmental Protection Agency has designated the Islesboro Island aquifer system as the sole source of drinking water for the area, following a petition from the State of Maine, due to the potential significant hazard to public health if the aquifer were contaminated.
