SEC Adopts Amendment to Rule 10b-18 to Enhance Liquidity During Market Downturns

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is adopting an amendment to Rule 10b-18 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to improve liquidity during market downturns. The new rule provides a safe harbor from liability for manipulation when an issuer bids for or buys its common stock within a specific timeframe following a market-wide trading suspension.
