Amendment to Class D and Establishment of Class E2 Airspace at Fort Rucker, AL
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has modified Class D airspace and established Class E2 airspace at Fort Rucker, Alabama, due to the opening of the control tower at Cairns Army Airfield, which operates from 6am to 10pm daily. As a result, the Class D airspace hours of operation have been changed from continuous to part-time, with the establishment of Class E2 surface area airspace when the tower is closed and approach control service is provided by the Cairns Army Radar Approach Control Facility.
