US Department of Defense Proposes Rule to Allow Double Coverage for CHAMPUS/TRICARE Claims

The proposed rule, which implements a provision from the Strom Thurmond National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1999, would enable the Secretary of Defense to pay CHAMPUS/TRICARE claims even if another health insurance is the primary payer, and collect costs from the secondary payer.
