Manufacturer Exemptions From Recreational Boat Standards

The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking public input to improve its response to a petition from the Personal Watercraft Industry Association (PWIA) for rulemaking changes to recreational boating safety regulations for personal watercraft (PWC). The PWIA proposes replacing the current exemption process with industry standards, which would require manufacturers to comply with certain standards.
