HUD Announces Public Meeting and Solicitation of Comments on Draft Report on Fair Housing Act Variance with Building Codes

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is hosting a public meeting to discuss a draft report by Steven Winter Associates (SWA) that highlights discrepancies between the Fair Housing Act's design and construction requirements and various building codes, including the National Building Code, Uniform Building Code, and International Building Code. The public is invited to provide comments on the draft report, which is part of a larger report that HUD will submit to the US House of Representatives by December 31, 1999.
