Offstream Storage of Colorado River Water and Development and Release of Intentionally Created Unused Apportionment in the Lower Division States
The U.S. Department of the Interior has issued a rule establishing a framework for the Secretary to consider and administer Storage and Interstate Release Agreements among Arizona, California, and Nevada, allowing for the voluntary interstate transfer of Colorado River water to meet regional water demands. This rule does not affect existing water entitlements and is intended to increase efficiency and flexibility in Colorado River management.
