EPA Finds New Jersey State Implementation Plan Inadequate for Transportation Conformity Purposes

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has determined that the motor vehicle emissions budgets submitted by New Jersey counties in two nonattainment areas are insufficient for transportation conformity purposes, following a 1999 court ruling that SIPs must be affirmatively found adequate by EPA before use.
