FAA Issues Airworthiness Directive for ATR-42 and ATR-72 Airplanes

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Aerospatiale Model ATR-42 and ATR-72 series airplanes, requiring the revision of the Airplane Flight Manual to include procedures for activating the airframe pneumatic deicing boots. The move comes after reports of inflight incidents and an accident in icing conditions where the boots were not activated.
