EPA Proposes to Reinstat New Jersey's Interim Approval for Enhanced Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve New Jersey's implementation plan for the enhanced motor vehicle inspection and maintenance (I/M) program, which is set to begin on December 13, 1999, and to reinstate the interim approval granted under the National Highway Systems Designation Act (NHSDA). The proposal aims to lift sanctions applied in New Jersey, which were triggered due to delays in implementing the program.
