Indiana and Department of the Interior Enter Cooperative Agreement for Surface Coal Mining Regulation

The Governor of Indiana and the Secretary of the Department of the Interior are entering into a cooperative agreement, allowing Indiana to regulate surface coal mining and reclamation operations on Federal lands in the state under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977.
