U.S. Proposes New Fee for F-1, J-1, and M-1 Nonimmigrant Students
The U.S. government is proposing a new $95 fee for F-1, J-1, and M-1 nonimmigrant students, which schools and exchange programs must collect and remit on their behalf when they first register or enroll in the United States. The fee is necessary to implement a program to collect information from nonimmigrant foreign students and other exchange program participants, as mandated by the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.
