Boeing Proposes Changes to Airworthiness Directive for 747-200, -300, and -400 Series Airplanes

Boeing is proposing to modify an existing airworthiness directive for certain 747-200, -300, and -400 series airplanes to reduce the frequency of high-frequency eddy current inspections for detecting cracking in the front spar web of the center section of the wing, and to add a requirement for inspections on repaired areas, in an effort to prevent a potential fire hazard.
