Nuclear Regulatory Commission Provides Additional Guidance on License Termination Rule

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued supplemental information regarding the implementation of its Final Rule on Radiological Criteria for License Termination, which was published on July 21, 1997. The new guidance provides screening values for surface soil contamination release levels and additional information on dose modeling efforts, in addition to previously published information on the end of the grandfathering period, draft regulatory guides, and decommissioning standard review plans.
