Audi A8 Petition for Importation into the US Receives NHTSA Approval

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received a petition requesting that 1997-2000 Audi A8 passenger cars, which do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards, be allowed to be imported into the US due to their substantial similarity to previously certified vehicles and their ability to be modified to meet safety standards.
