NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming 2000 BMW 3 Series

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received a petition from a company requesting a decision that 2000 BMW 3 Series passenger cars, which do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards, can be imported into the US due to their similarity to compliant vehicles and their ability to be modified to meet safety standards.
