Federal Acquisition Regulation; Definitions for “Contract Action” and “Contracting Action”

The Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council are proposing to update the Federal Acquisition Regulation to standardize the use of the term 'contract action,' aiming to simplify and clarify the regulation without making any significant changes. Comments are invited to address potential unintended changes to the FAR resulting from these revisions, which are part of a series of cases implementing the White House's 1999 Plain Language in Government Writing memorandum.
