U.S. Commission Amends Mattress Flammability Standard Due to Changes in Detergent and Washing Machine Technology

The U.S. Commission has updated its flammability standard for mattresses and mattress pads by revising the laundering procedure for pads containing chemical fire retardants, as the previously specified detergent is no longer available and modern washing machines do not meet the original requirements.
