FDA Proposes Classification of Female Condoms for Contraceptive and Prophylactic Purposes

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is proposing to classify the preamendments female condom, intended for contraceptive and prophylactic purposes, under the Pre-Market Approval (PMA) classification, following the recommendations of the Obstetrics-Gynecology Devices Panel, published on March 7, 1989.
