FDA Releases Draft Guidance on Nucleic Acid Testing of Pooled Plasma

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is releasing a draft guidance document to gather public feedback on its approach to regulating nucleic acid testing for infectious agents in blood donor screening and blood product manufacturing. The FDA responded to industry requests for guidance on developing nucleic acid testing for plasma pools containing infectious agents.
