EPA Approves Pennsylvania's Enhanced I/M Program, Defers Sanctions

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted conditional approval to Pennsylvania's enhanced motor vehicle inspection and maintenance (I/M) program, allowing the state to continue correcting deficiencies and deferring sanctions, including those set to take effect on August 29, 1998.
