EPA Certifies Alternative Labels for Nickel-Cadmium and Lead-Acid Batteries

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certified alternative labels for nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) and certain small sealed lead-acid rechargeable batteries on May 29, 1998, in response to a request from the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) to facilitate the collection and recycling of regulated batteries.
