DOE to Conduct Site Characterization Activities at Uranium Mill Tailings Site Near Shiprock, NM

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to conduct site characterization activities at the Uranium Mill Tailings Site near Shiprock, New Mexico, to determine groundwater contamination and select a remediation strategy, with potential impacts on the San Juan River floodplain and a nearby wetland.
