EPA Modifies National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Storm Water Permit for Industrial Activities

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized modifications to its NPDES Storm Water Multi-Sector General Permit, allowing previously excluded facilities to be covered after the expiration of the Baseline Industrial General Permit. The changes, effective September 29, 1995, expand storm water discharge authorization to include mine dewatering, lumber and wood products storage, and new sectors.
