The Medicare program is reopening the comment period for a proposed rule affecting payments to ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs), originally published on June 12, 1998. The rule's adoption has been delayed, and current ASC payment rates will remain in effect until the rule is finalized alongside the hospital outpatient prospective payment system (PPS) rule, which is also up for finalization.
