Atlantic Tuna Fisheries Closure Imminent Due to Quota Attainment

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has announced the closure of the General category fishery for October-December due to attainment of the 1998 Atlantic bluefin tuna subquota, which is expected to be reached by October 5, 1998, at 11:30 p.m. to prevent overfishing of 116 metric tons.
