Final Determination to Acknowledge the Match-e-be-nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan

The Assistant Secretary of the Interior has officially recognized the Match-e-be-nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan as a federally acknowledged tribe, satisfying seven criteria set forth in federal law. The recognition is based on a determination made by the Assistant Secretary, Indian Affairs, in accordance with 25 CFR 83.10(m).
