EPA Revokes Tolerances for Canceled Pesticide Uses
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced the revocation of tolerances for residues of pesticides that have been canceled due to their associated food uses, as part of the Agency's reregistration program under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA). The revocation takes effect on January 25, 1999, and is part of the Agency's requirement to reassess 33% of existing tolerances by August 1999.
