NRG Energy, Inc. Seeks Presidential Permit for 500,000-Volt Transmission Line Across U.S.-Mexico Border

NRG Energy, Inc. has submitted a request to the Department of Energy for a Presidential permit to construct a 500,000-volt transmission line spanning approximately 179 miles, including a 2.5-mile extension into Mexico, prompting the DOE to prepare an environmental impact statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.
